Murphy is one of the two titular main protagonists (alongside Mitzi) of the Murphy and Mitzi web animation and comic series by Ajmarekart.

He is a 12-year old cat living in New Lennium City in the early 2000s. He is friends with a squirrel girl Mitzi, and enjoys performing dangerous stunts, even though he is far from a great stuntsman and often ends up hurting himself.

Biography

According to comics, Murphy was born somewhere in the 1980s, met Mitzi in the 1990s, married her before 2020 and died in the 2070s at the age of 82 after a stunt gone wrong.

Personality

At first glance, Murphy is a daredevil, ready to perform the most daring tricks. He often breaks rules and tries to maintain a "cool" persona, especially in presence of younger kids. This, however, proves to be a cover for an introverted kid who isn't that good at what he's doing in the first place and often gets injured. Being an introvert only makes living in a crowded city more of a problem for him, but Murphy is still friendly most of the time, though he can act nasty if provoked (for example, he seems to enjoy hurting [bunny] due to finding her annoying, even though she appears to be younger than him and never antagonizes him intentionally). Although he and Mitzi are near polar opposites, and he gets annoyed with the girl's behavior at times, this doesn't stop them from remaining friends, even decades into the future as some animations and comics show, and Murphy is even shown standing up for Mitzi at times.

Trivia

• Murphy is apparently a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan, as he's seen with the series' merchandise at times, and owns both Sonic Adventure and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) (although he hates the latter game).
• In some shorts, Murphy is shown to be annoyed by [bunny] shipping him and Mitzi. Ironically, the comic depicting various stages of their lives shows that the two are married in the future.
• Despite being years younger than Zoe, the comics taking place in the future show that he dies before her.
• According to Ajmarekart, Murphy may be his last name rather than first.
• When asked on Twitter if Murphy has a "stash", Ajmarekart confirmed that he keeps a catnip plant, but his parents are unaware of it.
