Biography[]
How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming[]
After Hiccup explained the significance of the custom at Snoggletog, Nuffink was eager to assist his father in preparing a traditional dragon feast for Toothless. He boasts that he doesn't need a fishing rod and would rather butt the fish with his "own wee head" and proves this by banging his head into a house support beam when Hiccup offers to take him fishing to capture Toothless' favorite fish. However, a trap that his sister Zephyr had laid for any passing dragons prevents them from leaving the house. Zephyr's views on dragons were heard, and he made the decision to assist his sister in slaying dragons instead. Hiccup and Astrid were inspired to organize a Snoggletog Pageant in order to show the new Viking generation how humans and dragons could set aside their differences.
Nuffink continues to assist Zephyr in creating and testing new dragon traps as his parents and Gobber get ready for the pageant. At times, he even puts on a dragon costume. And when they succeed, he becomes quite excited! He practise bashing his skull as hard on one of the benches as he can while listening to tryouts for roles in the pageant, paying little attention to the auditions.
Nuffink stares in awe at the Mechanical Toothless Puppet throughout the performance, but as Zephyr expresses her disinterest in it, Nuffink exchanges his enthusiasm for what appears to be apathy in front of his sister. But he can't stop giddily gasping at the sight of the "dragon" interacting with a person. Zephyr steps in front of Nuffink and uses a sharp stick she had just whittled to defend him from the fire spewing monster as the stage catches fire and Hiccup loses control of the puppet as it shoots fire into the audience. He again looks at the show's climactic moment with wide eyes after the fire has been put out and everything seem to be returning to normal on the pageant stage. He excitedly bounces up and down towards the conclusion while applauding the performance. He exclaims his enthusiasm for it, hops from the bench he was sitting on, and belly flips to the ground, saying it makes him want to soar like a dragon.
Nuffink pretends to be Stoick in the pageant while taming Zephyr, who is posing as Toothless, as they travel home that evening. He nearly walks into one of Zephyr's traps back at the home, but Zephyr snatches the Viking helmet from his head and tosses it into the trap instead. Once inside, Zephyr and he are enthralled by the green lighting gem that has been placed next to the bowl of fish they had earlier prepared for Toothless. As soon as Nuffink and Zephyr notice the ruckus and leap into their parents' arms, Toothless and his family fly out of view. At this point, their parents had already gone outside to check on Toothless.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World Epilogue[]
Nuffink and his family sailed not far from the caldera entrance, some ten years after all the dragons of Berk moved to dwell in the Hidden World. His father was holding him while assisting him in letting go of the anchor. The two of them then examine the cascade together as his mother enfolds him in her arms. Playing on some nearby rocks were Toothless, the Light Fury, and their Night Light children. The Night Fury approached the boat with caution after seeing it. Astrid had already placed Nuffink down at this point, but she still kept her other children back out of caution since she wasn't sure what the Dragon would do. In order to hide himself from the dragon, Nuffink hid his face in his mother's shoulder and wrapped himself in her fur chieftess cloak. Astrid giggled and assured her children that Hiccup and Toothless are friends and that the dragon wouldn't harm them when he realized who Hiccup was. When Hiccup asked his kids to train Toothless, Nuffink bravely approached the dragon while keeping his eyes wide-open at the dragon. But when Hiccup told them to stretch out their hands, Nuffink nervously hid his eyes. Nuffink lowered his palm from his face at the first brush of Toothless' snout and gaped in awe at being able to touch a dragon.
After that, Zephyr and her mother rode Stormfly, while Nuffink and his father mounted Toothless. While riding, Nuffink toyed with the air with his hands, and Hiccup repeatedly hurled him up in the air, making Nuffink shriek with delight. He briefly made friends with one of the Light Fury and Night Light hatchlings by reaching out and caressing its feet as it soared close to them. Nuffink glanced at his father in shock as The Night Light made squeaking noises and playful bats at the boy's hands. Then, behind Astrid, Hiccup threw Nuffink onto Stormfly, and he now beckoned Zephyr to join him. As they flew, Nuffink clung to his mother's shoulders.
