“ | Just you and me, in the cold Your worries, just let them mold Oh, now Jimmy is feeling bold At this point, time is getting old What's the point of splitting the sea? Cuz' you and me, we'll leave behind a legacy! |

~ Oxaya's lyrics in AnotherBrother, his most famous quote. |
“ | Isn't it beautiful! I love watching the sun set. It reminds me of simpler times. The times where I didn't have to think about the worst. It helps keep those things off my mind. I feel relaxed. For once. I feel at home. At peace. Without the burdens I've brought dragged around. I'm happy here. | „ |

Oxaya (pronounced "oh-zay-uh") is a Max Design Pro fan character serving as the opponent of AnotherBrother, a Friday Night Funkin' mod made by his currently anonymous creator (BonziKillbeach co-owning Oxaya).
Oxaya is the secret fourth sibling of Max's family, and Jimmy's fraternal twin. However, a birth defect led Oxaya's father, Jeff, to believe that he was a freak of nature, and was locked away in the basement for his whole life. He wishes to go outside, but anyone who learns of the "monster" in the basement is put in danger by Jeff, who wishes to keep him a secret for as long as the both of them stand.
Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]
- Despite his appearance, as well as being the opponent of "AnotherBrother", Oxaya doesn't appear to do anything to Jimmy if he loses. Additionally, while he is technically the catalyst for Jimmy's death, it's made clear that Jeff is the one truly to blame for causing the story's events in the first place.
- While Oxaya does care for his siblings, being trapped in a basement for so long means that Oxaya has no notable actions to speak of. Caring for others is, while commendable, not really enough to be classified as "heroic". Additionally, the legacy he wishes to build with Jimmy is also left unclear, and as such cannot be used to judge his morality in any way.
- What exactly Oxaya does after the mod is mostly ambiguous. While his plight is sympathetic, Oxaya escaping the basement is entirely divorced from his morality, as his motives for doing so are understandably self-serving in nature.
Appearance[]
Oxaya is an eleven year old anthropomorphic monkey with brown fur and beige countershading. He wears a yellow vest, blue pants, and navy blue shoes.
Compared to the rest of his family, Oxaya's ears are pointed, leading to his father viewing him as a monster. Canonically, part of Oxaya's tongue was bitten off, but this detail is often overlooked within his official artwork.
Partway in the AnotherBrother mod, Oxaya's body appears to be further deformed. He is taller, his left hand becomes clawlike and ends in a black liquid. His pupils turn to slits, his clothing is tattered, and his tail is now shortened after presumably being chopped off. According to a comment by the song's charter, this is not Oxaya's actual appearance, and is rather a metaphor for what Jeff made Jimmy think Oxaya is like.
Personality[]
“ | I might've looked like a monster, but I loved you like a brother would. | „ |
~ Oxaya speaking to Jimmy through the mod's GameBanana page. |
From what can be gathered, Oxaya is not entirely mentally sound after being left to rot in a basement for his entire life. Oxaya is easily impressionable by his. He conjures up imaginary friends to keep himself occupied, but witnessing Jimmy's death right in front of him has led to Oxaya imagining at least one of them meeting the same fate, if not thinking of himself as being the one who pulled the trigger.
Despite this, Oxaya is at least somewhat cheerful, at least as a child. He's remarkably chipper when his "friends" are around, and he can hold a conversation on his own. Oxaya, having been trapped in a basement for all his life, seems curious of the outside world and what it's like, wishing to go to Alaska like the rest of his family.
Oxaya has an innate desire to connect with his siblings, wishing to act as a true family. If his lyrics are of any indication, Oxaya feels as though keeping each other separated does nothing in the long run, when them being together would do a lot more. This sentiment is given far less to his father, Jeff, who Oxaya is traumatized by. If someone discovers the basement, Oxaya fears what Jeff would do to not only himself, but also whoever let their curiosity get the better of them.
Biography[]
“ | If your idea of "losing everything" is getting fired then you wouldn't be able to comprehend half of what I've been through. | „ |
~ Oxaya replying to fellow Max Design Pro OC Trent. |
On an unknown date in the past, twin brothers Jimmy and Oxaya were born to Martha and Jeff, parents who had already had two children, Max and Hope. However, there was something wrong, as unlike the rest of his family, Oxaya's ears were pointed upward. Upon seeing his "deformed" baby boy, Jeff screamed at the doctors, his wife, and little Oxaya. As much as he wanted to kill the child, Martha convinced him to spare Oxaya's life, leading to Jeff locking Oxaya in the basement instead. For years, Jeff would warn his kids of a monster in the basement, telling them to never open the door, all the while abusing Oxaya while the family wasn't around.
Years would pass, and right before a family trip to Alaska, Jimmy, youngest of the three known siblings, would get curious as to what was underneath the house. Finding an old key and a photo of him and someone he didn't recognize, he opened the door, only to find another monkey staring at him, overjoyed at the idea of interacting with his own brother for the first time. However, Oxaya's overzealousness made Jimmy hesitant, and the noise alerted the family patriarch.
Before the two could do anything, Jeff came down the steps and shot Jimmy, the child he didn't ostracize and hate, cleanly through the chest so no one could know about the truth of what's hidden in the basement. Oxaya would cradle Jimmy's corpse in his arms. If a voicechat on the official server is of any indication, Jeff reported Jimmy as missing, but blamed Oxaya for what had happened before shooting Oxaya as well, done as an attempt to "teach him a lesson" about "hurting people".
Oxaya would survive the incident, scarred for life. Oxaya would leave the basement at some point, but what he witnessed and everything he's been through will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Trivia[]
- Oxaya's voice is extremely high pitched, and often has a bitcrushed filter applied to it.
- Oxaya's voice during the lyrical segment of "AnotherBrother" is far different than his canon one, being far deeper. However, the raw voice lines reveal that there are two voices speaking, with his canonical voice being overlaid on top of his one in the mod.
- One time, Oxaya's official Discord server tried ordering a pizza for him. Jeff would be the one to pick it up at the front door and flew into a fit of rage, likely abusing Oxaya even further.
- After this incident, Oxaya hates pizza.
- Allegedly, Oxaya has a wife by the name of Blossom. Whether or not she's an imaginary friend that he made up or someone he meets after he escapes is unclear.
- At some point, Oxaya gets a chicken nugget named "Daniel the Third".
- Allegedly, his favorite color is "seven".
- During "AnotherBrother", if the player clicks on the like button over 75 times, a "good" ending plays out where Oxaya lets Jimmy leave before Jeff finds out, letting Jimmy go on the family trip to Alaska. The developers have stated that both endings are canon to their own respective paths, but the main story of Oxaya follows the mod's bad ending.
- The "good" timeline is more or less the story's version of the canon Max Design Pro lore.
- The image shown during the mod's bad ending is a redraw of Ilya Repin's 1885 painting Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan, where after exploding in a fit of rage, Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible would strike his son in the head and kill him, instantly regretting doing so. Similarly, while Oxaya did not kill Jimmy directly, the noise he made was presumably what allowed Jeff to find out about Jimmy opening the basement, thus indirectly being the cause of his death.
- The image was first released on Oxaya's Twitter account, with it originally being teased with the comment "father taught me a lesson".
- Oxaya made a cameo in Max Design Pro, appearing in the foreground of "WHAT? How is this possible? MathsMagic Trick". This is not the first time the Max Design Pro account has acknowledged a fan character, as Evil Max is based on Max's portrayal in the Friday Night Funkin' mod Twiddlefinger.
