Pukei-Pukei are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame Monster Hunter: World.
Why aren’t they heroic or villainous?[]
- They are mainly minding their own business until the hunter comes.
Appearance[]
With its limited capacity to shift color, Pukei-Pukei bears a faint resemblance to a chameleon, and its eyes have a frog-like appearance. With the exception of its underside, which is covered in white osteoderm-like platings, its whole body is coated in green, feather-like scales that vary in color. It possesses two wings. Pukei-Pukei's wings and neck are adorned with colorful feathers.
Abilities[]
Before mixing its own poison with the qualities of its meal, Pukei-Pukei is reported to store such qualities in its mouth and tail. It may then use this to its advantage to spew poison from its mouth and tail, with different effects according on what it has eaten. Pukei-Pukei, for instance, will acquire a stunning talent from eating a scatternut. If hunters want to stop Pukei-Pukei from eating nuts, they can dump scatternuts on it.
Behavior[]
According to eyewitness accounts, Pukei-Pukei will intimidate smaller monsters but submit to larger, more powerful ones. Take advantage of the fact that it tends to flee at the first hint of danger. The Pukei-Pukei's head and wing feathers will become crimson in anger. Its eyes shrink and the feathers on its head and wings lose color when it is tired.
