Pomni: You had a wife? Like, here in the circus?
Kinger: Yeah. She was funny, creative, really into entomology. I used to hate bugs but, she somehow got me to like them.
*sigh* It's not the most cheerful memory but... it's one I at least have control over.
~ Kinger revealing that Queenie was the one who got him to like bugs.

Queenie is a major overarching character in the adult animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus created by Glitch Productions.

She was a former member of the Digital Circus and Kinger's wife. Having abstracted sometime before the events of the show, she was first referenced in the pilot episode where one of the doors showed a crossed out character who resembled that of a lady chess piece. Her name was later revealed by the show's writer Gooseworx on Tumblr.

Appearance

We never actually see what Queenie looks like directly prior to her abstraction. However, judging by her symbol on the door, she was an anthropomorphic queen chess piece wearing a red gown and had a brown color scheme. Possessing the same disjointed eyes that Kinger has, being the same color as her body. In her abstracted form, she takes on a beast-like shape with jagged edges and several dozen eyeballs strewn across her body.

Personality

According to Kinger, prior to her abstraction, Queenie was a comedic individual who had a creative mind and was really into entomology, citing her as the reason he himself started liking bugs. Her being passive in her abstracted state also hints at the idea that she was a relatively peaceful individual, though this is speculation at best.

As of now, this is all we know about Queenie with it being unclear if we will learn more about her in the future.

History

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT

While Queenie has already abstracted before the events of the show, her character is first hinted at in the schene where Pomni, Jax and Ragatha are walking down the hallway where all the dorm rooms are in order to visit Kaufmo where, looking closely at each of the crossed out doors, one of them shows a queen chess piece closely resembling that of Kinger. Later on, when asked about it on Tumblr, Gooseworx would confirm that this character's name was Queenie.

The Mystery Of Mildenhall Manor

Queenie is first foreshadowed when the Angel attacks Pomni and Kinger, in which Kinger finds himself staring into the eyes of the beast, eyes widening before saying "You look so beautiful honey". Later in the episode, when the duo find themselves trapped in literal hell, one of the spirits that resides within it end up possessing Pomni. Kinger immediately jumps to save her, at which point the spirit mocks him by asking how his wife is.

It is following these events, when Kinger frees Pomni from the spirit's influence, and the jester understandably starts to have a break down, that Kinger, upon Pomni's questioning of why he's been acting so different lately, reveals that the dark allows his mind to grow a lot clearer, before stating the reason for it being that when his wife abstracted, the two found themselves in a pillow fort where, oddly enough, it seemed as though the dark calmed her down, no longer acting aggressive. Now in a docile state, Kinger was able to touch his wife one last time before she was sent away into the cellar. Kinger then goes onto explain that, while it's not a particularly happy memory, it is one of the few that he is able to hold onto.

The exact circumstances which caused Queenie to abstract are currently unknown, though it's possible that this will be revealed in one of the later episodes.

Trivia

  • The true identity of Kinger's Wife is never revealed in the episode, but it's highly likely that Queenie (A similarly designed character) is his wife, and so their relationship has been head-canoned by everyone in the community to the extent that it's canon.
    • While it's highly likely that Queenie will be explicitly referenced as Kinger's wife in a future episode, there's a chance that another abstracted character could be the wife of Kinger.
