The Rakna-Kadaki are female Temnocerans first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
Physiology[]
Temnocerans, or Rakna-Kadaki, are sharply curved spike-bearing organisms. Their huge spikes on the legs and abdomen, which are typically coated in pale webs, protrude from their purple carapace. Rakna-Kadaki possesses eight limbs, unlike Nerscylla, with the hind pair supporting the abdomen above the ground and the front pair consisting of crimson, blunt pedipalps that may expand up to three times their length. But Rakna-Kadaki's "necks" are the most unusual feature. Their necks are lengthy and extensible, and they may be "retracted" back onto the top of the thorax, similarly to pelican spiders. Eight golden eyes and two pairs of chelicerae on the jaw are features of their heads.
Their progeny, referred to as Rachnoid, resemble a ball of silk with spikes, pedipalps, and legs protruding from it.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Rakna-Kadaki, in contrast to most other spiders, have the ability to spit many strands of silk from their mouths simultaneously, unlike Nerscylla. They wrap their victims in webs with this silk and then kill them. They may also eject the same gas from their bodies and belch a jet of scorching gas out their lips.
Usually spotted wearing their own silk, Rakna-Kadaki give the impression of being dressed in a white gown. In addition, they constantly carry their young and have the ability to launch coordinated attacks on their prey, including spitting globs of silk or using their own silk to draw their mother back in.
Habitat[]
Rakna-Kadaki appear to favor hotter, drier climates, such as those found in the Lava Caverns or Sandy Plains.
