The Raphinos is a Wingdrake that made its first appearanced in Monster Hunter: World. The Coral Highlands are home to these Wingdrakes. They band together to steal other animals' eggs, which makes them vulnerable to larger, more ferocious predators.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
Physiology[]
Raphinos are tapejarid pterosaurs or parrot-like wingdrakes. Their wings feature ribbon-like extensions that hang from them, and their skin is bright pink.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Large flocks of raphinos may leisurely wander the coral landscape, occasionally grazing on coral eggs. By snagging a hook on one, a hunter can cleverly guide the flock to certain locations because the others will follow that individual's lead. The Rotten Vale is home to infected raphinos. Due to their condition, these individuals are hostile toward the hunter. Raphino bodies can also occasionally fall to the Vale and be carved into useful objects. Legiana and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku frequently prey on raphinos.
