Rathian are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter.
Physiology[]
Rathian is a real flying wyvern of medium stature, resembling her male counterpart Rathalos in appearance. Against the rich red of the Rathalos, her hide is a dull, muted green, and she has a large, projecting chin spike on her lower jaw. Her clubbed tail lacks bone spikes, but it more than makes up for it with sharp, very deadly needles that she may use to poison enemies upon contact. Her upper back and wingtips are clothed in a moss-like hair not found on the Rathalos.
Abilities[]
Rathian can shoot flame-throwing missiles out of her lips, just like her partner. But she is obviously more skilled with this weapon because she frequently fires several blasts at once. She may also charge up and unleash a more powerful fire blast that can set fire to a large area of ground in front of her. Even if her tail were severed, she could still deal deadly, blunt-force wounds to opponents with the venomous barbs on her tail club. She can sprint quickly because to her strong legs, and she can readily pursue most targets. Her vision is as acute as the Rathalos', therefore Flash Bombs come in handy during battle.
Behavior[]
Being very protective of her partner Rathalos, Rathian prefers to patrol from above while he patrols from the ground. When faced with possible dangers, she will become quite hostile, especially if she is near her nest and young. Hunters carrying their eggs will always be targeted by Rathian and Rathalos.
Habitat[]
Although they may live in practically any region, ratians choose places with normal temperatures for their nesting sites. She can therefore be found in a wide range of locations, including the Jungle, Sandy Plains, and Primal Forest.
Trivia[]
- Rathian is the one on top of the Monster Hunter logo while many assumed it was Rathalos. It is because Rathian has more back spikes and longer chin spike.
- Rathian was also made before Rathalos.
