scubamaster96 is a minor supporting character in the YouTube SFM horror series Serverblight by 2IdiotGermans. He is a Team Fortress 2 player who was assimilated by the enigmatic, monstrous Serverblight, introduced in the video SERVERBLIGHT.

Biography

Past

At some point, scubamaster96 downloaded Team Fortress 2. By the time of SERVERBLIGHT, he appeared to still be an inexperienced player, impulsive and using free cosmetics.

SERVERBLIGHT

One day, scubamaster96 was playing on a Snowycoast community server as Heavy, where RED team led a remarkable comeback against a BLU push. After the match concluded, most of the players left, and the next round had scubamaster96 assigned to BLU team alongside only two players, Hector0n (Medic) and dicksalot (Soldier). Suddenly, a slew of new players joined RED at the exact same moment, filling the team- but unbeknownst to scubamaster96, these were no players, but an assimilating paranormal entity known as the Serverblight.

dicksalot, who had encountered the Serverblight before, tried to disconnect with Hector0n, only to find his disconnect option blocked by the creature. Unable to killbind, dicksalot nearly despaired, but Hector0n, mistaking the Serverblight for a group of hackers, inspired dicksalot to fight back. As the two friends readied to head out, Hector0n asked if scubamaster96 wanted to join. scubamaster96, who had heard their conversation over the mic and text chat, eagerly agreed to help, stating "we go together"- before charging out alone.

Eventually, scubamaster96 encountered who he thought was a RED player, presumably the assimilated directionz, pulling his shotgun on the enemy- only to be infected by contact with the entity. As scubamaster96 froze, his mind being fully sucked into the game and added to the Serverblight's gestalt, Hector0n and dicksalot came by to check on him. As they approached, scubamaster96's body began to distort under the Serverblight's influence, a hand starting to grow out of his mouth. He then dropped his gun, starting to repeat "we go together" in chat- before suddenly being denoted as *dead* as he was fully assimilated. With that, scubamaster96 began screaming for help, his fingers stretching out as he charged at dicksalot and Hector0n, now a part of the Serverblight. The pair fled from the assimilated Heavy, who eventually cornered them against a wall, but dicksalot called a votekick on scubamaster96, expelling the component from the server.

Assimilation

Sometime later, presumably as a result of being kicked, the assimilated scubamaster96 joined a Dustbowl server, quickly assimilating all the players, leaving only one empty player slot open on BLU. The Serverblight, now in control of the players, kept scubamaster96 in hiding while the other assimilated players were used to replicate a regular match to fool any newly-joining player. Soon enough, a new player, Syrenix, joined the server.

Syrenix eventually tipped off the Serverblight that he was a regular player, prompting it to start hunting him down. After evading the other components, Syrenix tried to end the game by capturing the last point, but scubamaster96 stretched his thumb out to touch the point, blocking the capture. scubamaster96, now distorted to a nearly vermiform appearance, then emerged from cover, letting out a distorted roar and repeating "we go together" in chat. Syrenix, terrified, fell backwards as scubamaster96 and the other Serverblight components mobbed and assimilated him in a mass of distorted hands.
