The Seltas is a male Neopteron that was first introduced in Monster Hunter 4.

Physiology[]
The giant, mantis-like insectoid Seltas has a very resilient, colorful exoskeleton covered with knobs and spines. He has two retractable wings and six legs, the front two of which are armored and equipped with weapons for battle. A huge, armored canopy that stretches well beyond the rest of his upper torso conceals his head. He possesses strong, slicing mandibles and compound eyes. The Seltas Queen's male equivalent is called Seltas.
Abilities[]
Seltas's greatly developed wings let him to move with extreme precision in the air. His plated canopy will skewer his victim, and his forelimbs are made for cutting and jabbing. His field of vision is incredibly broad due to his compound eyes. Three green globs that induce the Defense down sickness can be fired by it.
Behavior[]
Because of its size and strength, the predatory Seltas can feed on both minor monsters and hunters. He has a reputation for using his weaponized forelimbs and attacking from the air. Furthermore, it is well known that he will cling to his enormous female companion and use his strong wings to carry her. He will initially find it difficult to break free after being compelled to join with Selta's Queen. However, as if under hypnosis, he will battle beside Selta's Queen without hesitation once the merging is complete. When his mate eats him, he won't even resist, demonstrating that Seltas is completely under the Queen's power.
Habitat[]
Where there is an abundance of prey and a neutral climate, Seltas can be found in the Ancestral Steppe, Sunken Hollow, Heaven's Mount, Primal Forest, and the Everwood.
