Seregios are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. They are a species of Flying Wyvern that uniquely hunt using extremely sharp scales, which they eject to shred up prey. A colony of these wyverns were displaced by a Seregios infected with the Frenzy Virus, causing them to come into conflict with humans as they searched for a new home.
Physiology[]
The bipedal wyvern Seregios is modest in size and has shiny gold scales covering her body. It has crimson patterns around its eyes and all over its body. A single, backward-curving horn atop its head completes the look. Its feet have two toes pointing forward and two toes facing backward, making them zygodactyl in nature. When Seregios becomes upset, it will use its separate swivels to produce a rattling show.
Abilities[]
An agile and physically capable Flying Wyvern, Seregios is exceptionally swift on the ground and in the air, being capable of executing leaps and aerial tackles in rapid succession. Its powerful legs, combined with its sharp talons, are capable of rending any prey that it grabs onto to pieces. Furthermore, Seregios is durable enough to engage in turf wars with powerful monsters such as Gore Magala, with its incredible stamina also allowing it to engage in protracted fights against adversaries like hunters.
These physical attributes all complement the Seregios's signature attribute: its hide of golden, razor sharp Bladescales. These diamond-shaped scales cover most of the Seregios's body and are so sharp, they leave bloody gashes even if their victim merely brushed against them lightly. Furthermore, Seregios can fire these scales from its body at will, stabbing targets with their sharp tips and leaving hazards throughout the battlefield.
Behavior[]
As an airborne hunter, Seregios is exceptionally skilled. When it comes to enemies as well as prey, it is violent and vicious. It has a reputation for attempting to annex other monsters' lands and for asserting its supremacy over its surroundings. Interestingly, Seregios has an incredibly antagonistic relationship with the Rath species, engaging in battle against Rathalos quite often in particular. As an apex Seregios managed to drive off a huge flock of them from their natural habitat, it appears that Seregios might be social animals, living in large colonies whilst marking out their territory with Bladescales.
Habitat[]
It was first believed that Seregios lived in tiny, remote, and little recorded settings. The population, however, has been dispersed owing to the abrupt emergence of Apex Seregios, and now they may be found in a wide range of habitats, including the Ancestral Steppe, the Dunes, Everwood, Heaven's Mount, Volcanic Hollow, Sunken Hollow, and Frozen Seaway. A battlequarters attack has been seen by Apex Seregios.
Trvia[]
- Seregios is often known in the community under the name "Steve" as when asked on its name before it was officially revealed, a developer simply answered that it was "Steve".
- Similarly to Lagiacrus, Astalos, and Anjanath, Seregios was conceptualised as a rival to Rathalos, with the "os" suffix of its name denoting that. Unlike the other four monsters, Seregios seems to maintain this theming as its intro cutscene for Monster Hunter Rise displays it antagonising a Rathian and killing it.
