He is portrayed by Levi Petree.
Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]
- He is not a villain as he is just a typical overly strict drill sergeant, with the harshest thing that he has done being something that is already done in military camps.
Appearance[]
Sergeant Stokes, hence his name, is a drill sergeant with gray/brown hair and a military outfit.
Biography[]
After having enough with her sons behavior, Jay's mom decides to send him to military school to reform him. However, while there, the first thing he does is grab out his boombox and start dancing, with the other students joining in before Stokes comes in and turns the boombox off, ordering Jay to do 20 push-ups. The boys then go to sleep, and everyone is up and dressed in uniform by 6:00 AM, except for Jay. Sergeant Stokes orders one of the students to give him his horn, which he blasts, startling Jay.
Jay decides to play a prank by wrapping saran wrap around the urinal in the men's staff bathroom. This earns him the anger of Sergeant Stokes. He prepares to give Jay a severe punishment, before a female teacher intervenes and suggests Mess Hall Duty as a punishment. Sergeant Stokes then threatens Jay, telling him that if he crosses his again, he will make sure that he wishes he was never born. It turns out that Mess Hall Duty is none other than serving lunch. Jay's friend informs him about Crazy Jerry, a boy who was once like Jay, but got sent to "the hole" as a punishment, which is nothing other than solitary confinement. Jay prepares to bring down Stokes, ignoring the warnings of his new friend.
He begins by spiking Stokes' water bottle with a sleeping pill, causing him to feel drowsy and take a nap. After Stokes goes to sleep, Jay and his friend enter Stokes' room (the War Room), where Jay plants several booby traps, similar to that of Home Alone. When Stokes wakes up, he steps barefoot into some sticky syrup on the floor, and runs into a tripwire, causing syrup to be poured onto his head. After grabbing some towels to wipe up the mess, feathers that were hidden under the towels fly and stick to his face and feet. When he exits his room, he is splattered in the face by a pie, covering his face with cream. Enraged, he finds Jay and takes him to face punishment in "the hole", despite the desperate pleas of the boy.
Minutes later, however, Jay's mother enters the room, and Jay asks if he can be taken back home, to which his mother agrees, the latter reminding him of what she told him earlier: "Be careful what you wish for, because the grass is not always greener on the other side."
Personality[]
Sergeant Stokes, like the typical sergeant, is shown to be quite cruel and unfair, always being ready to give Jay the harshest punishment possible for any mischievous act he does. After being fed up with him, he decides to take him into the hole as the worst punishment, just like what he did to Crazy Jerry.
Abilities[]
- Intimidation - Like pretty much any drill sergeant, Sergeant Stokes can intimidate his students quite easily, except for Jay, who planned on taking him down.
Trivia[]
- Sergeant Stoke’s character was based off of a mixture of Veteran Actor Jack Nicholson who was well known for his iconic roles especially Jack Torrance from The Shining (1980) and Colonel Nathan Jessup from A Few Good Men (1992) along with late drill sergeant actor R Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman from Full Metal Jacket (1987) in terms of physical appearance, character, and personality.
