Smartass (Rus.: Умник; Umnik) is an optional minor antagonist in the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl.
Smartass is a veteran stalker, who robbed Baldy during one of their quests. Which made Baldy vengeful towards him.
Personality[]
Smartass, as his alias suggest, a smart person. Highly knowledgeable in Science, particularly Physics and loves discussions about abstract philosophical issues.
Quite arrogant and egoistical, always brags about his knowledge of Science and how he is "smarter" than others. Which makes him a rather annoying and unlikable person. But, overall, a decent person. A kind of an idealist, believes in high values.
Appearance[]
Smartass wears a common used by Loners Sunrise Suit, consisting of light military bulletproof vest and a jumpsuit made out of rubberized fabric with a gasmask on. It is reinforced with inserted kevlar plates and provides low levels of protection.
Biography[]
A Department of Physics student who dropped out during his senior year and went to the Zone in search for easy money. At some point he befriended Baldy and they both went on a artifact hunt, where they found a very rare artifact. During one of the nights, Smartass stole the rare artifact and sold it to the Barkeep. When Baldy confronted him, Smartass gaslighted him into believing that the loot disappeared on its own. However, some time later, Baldy found the named artifact at Barkeep's and realized that Smartass lied to him.
Baldy was pissed. In revenge, he can hire Mechenyj to "kill the traitor".
Powers & Skills[]
- Manipulation: From Baldy's words, Smartass gaslighted him into believing that the artifact disappeared on his own. If not for Baldy's pure luck, he wouldn't even known that the loot was stolen.
- Vast Knowledge: Smartass is a former student of Physics' Department. And his alias he got from his vast knowledge of science and philosophy, in what he is very prideful of. Also, Smartass sometimes plays guitar around the campfire.
