The Spinosaurus is the main antagonist of the 2001 science fiction film Jurassic Park III, the third installment of Universal Pictures' Jurassic Park franchise. This animal was one of four dinosaurs (alongside the Ceratosaurus, Corythosaurus and Ankylosaurus) that appeared in the film that were not in InGen's list of cloned dinosaurs.
His vocal sound effects were provided by Frank Welker, who also voiced The Big One in Jurassic Park and the V-Rex in King Kong.
Why aren't they Heroic or Villainous?[]
- They are just an animal who has no understanding of good or bad and so can not be classified as either.
Biography[]
Early Life:[]
The Spinosaurus was born sometime in 1999 and experimented on for nine months after birth. Henry Wu experimented on this creature in an effort to re-create feathers that ultimately failed, and so it was abandoned on Site B. The animal was thought to be the only one of its kind.
Jurassic Park ///:[]
In 2001 Alan Grant and several others went to Isla Sorna for what his co passengers told him was an anniversary trip but actually a mission to find their son Eric who had gone missing on the island. The Spinosaurus broke out of the jungle where the plane had landed and killed Cooper before Nash rammed the plane into the animal and eventually crashed it. Moments later The enraged Spinosaurus came and tore the damaged vehicle in half before picking out Nash dropping him on the ground, stomping on him and biting his head off. As Half of the plane fell out of the tree it was stuck in and fell to the ground where the survivors ran for their lives whilst the Angry animal made chase however the big dinosaur got suck between some trees obstructing it's path.
The humans would encounter the beast soon again after encountering a T. rex. The Spinosaurus overpowered the smaller Tyrannosaurus and snapped his neck killing him instantly. Later the remaining survivors of the crash would encounter the creature in an old paddock and were able to squeeze their way through the fence to get away. But the vengeful dinosaur slammed into the fence breaking a hole in it and once again chased them until the got inside another building that the feral predator was too big to get into.
Later on they humans would yet again come face to face with the piscivore as it attacked the boat they were on and injuring Amanda Kirby. However Paul was able to cause a distraction that drew it's attention away from the others before throwing a flare into the water starting a fire that startled the Spinosaurus and causing it to run away from the scene.
Death:[]
While the animals final fate remains unknown it is more then likely that it perished along with several other animals during the great dying on site B. It was shown in Jurassic world Evolution 2 that the Spinosaurus was killed by a pack of Raptors however there is no information regarding weather or not this incident is cannon.
Appearance[]
This animal has a long snout and bright green eyes with slit pupils with pronated wrists and conical teeth. Its colour pallet consists of grey blue and red.
Personality[]
Unlike many other animals in the franchise, this specific Spinosaurus is shown to be far more aggressive then the other predatory animals. It is likely the most aggressive animal outside of the Indominus rex. It's malicious behaviour is understandable as the animal had only known harm from humans in it's infancy. Not to mention that Nash rammed a plane into it's side leaving a large cut on the animal's flank, it would make sense as to why this dinosaur was so blood thirsty.
