Unquestionably, one of the most well-known dinosaurs, the Stegosaurus is known worldwide. It is the stegosaur family's biggest and most well-known member. It roamed what is now North America's wide plains during the Late Jurassic Period. It is a strange and unusual dinosaur because of the plates along its back, small head, and spiked tail. The late Jurassic low-growing plants were the source of this plant-eater's evolution. Its tail's spikes would have been an effective defense from any famished attackers.
Appearance[]
The clones of Stegosaurus had brown plates with a paler center and were either green or light brown in hue. Some of InGen's Stegosaurus were around 7 meters long, like the species Stegosaurus stenops, but others were said to reach 12 meters long, which is far longer than the longest known Stegosaurus, Stegosaurus ungulatus. It's possible that InGen enlarged it to make it more impressive. The skin of these new Stegosaurus clone variations was pale olive green and dark tan in Jurassic World. Their plates had a brown horizontal line on a black background. When compared to the InGen clones, the size is far more realistic. Although the individuals in Camp Cretaceous truly have beaks, these new clones typically have erroneous drooping tails and less noticeable beaks that blend into the skin. The males in Camp Cretaceous were the striped ones. Unlike the originals, the clones lacked the lengthy necks, the downward-curved tips of their tails, and ossicles, or throat armor. Furthermore, the cloned Stegosaurus had 22 plates on its back instead of the 17 that its predecessors had.
Behavior[]
It has been demonstrated that Stegosaurus exist in small or big herds. Even when only one adolescent is present, they have been observed in the company of adults. Since the youngster had never seen a human before, Dr. Harding came up to pet and take a picture of it while it was eating plants. Before it cried out for assistance, the youngster exhibited little interest in her. As a result, other herd members charged and roared at the baby, waving their tails in defense.
Sammy and Darius have determined that individuals of Stegosaurus lost their plates, indicating a process of replacement and regrowth. Darius later saw two Stegosaurus fighting for territory and supremacy. They swung their tails at one another during the conflict, and they may have unintentionally or purposely struck big rocks as a result of their fierce struggle.
Brachiosaurus and other herbivores coexisted in a herd of Stegosaurus, suggesting a comparatively tranquil shared habitat. When approaching a couple of adult Tyrannosaurus rex and their juvenile, the Stegosaurus herd shown minimal anxiety. Given how dangerous it would have been to hunt them, the Tyrannosaurus rex would have been discouraged by the herd's size.
