Ted Pauley is a minor character who appeared in the movie, Monsters, Inc.
Biography[]
Monsters, Inc.[]
Though he has been employed there for at least six years, Ted did not initially get the position as a scarer at Monsters, Inc.
During his description of the fright collection process, Ted appeared in a Monsters, Inc. advertisement. In the closing scene, he was included among the staff.
When Boo, a little child from the human world, was momentarily permitted access into the monster world by James P. Sullivan, Ted was employed at Monsters, Inc. Hours before she left for Monstropolis, Pauley had been working on Scare Floor F, terrifying kids in the human realm to gather energy for Scream Canisters.
After the CDA revealed that Pauley's boss, Henry J. Waternoose, had planned to kidnap a thousand children before the death of his company, Ted and the other employees of Monsters, Inc. waited outside the business until the CDA had departed. In this period, Pauley and the other scarers turned into laugh collectors after Sulley and Mike Wazowski recognized that chuckles, in addition to screams, might provide the energy required to power Monstropolis.
When the company play "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me" was performed, Pauley was one of the monsters in attendance.
Appearance[]
Though he speaks in a gentlemen's manner most of the time, Pauley is still a tough and stubborn scarer. Standing at five feet seven inches and weighing five hundred and sixty-six pounds, he is a large, slender, muscular purple monster with a stance akin to a gorilla. He has many spikes on his back and seven orange stripes. He also has sixteen detachable blue eyes that he uses for scaring people. In the movie, he doesn't have a visible mouth, but in the TV show, he does.
