The Teostra are an all-male Elder Dragon species that appears in the fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter 2.
Why aren’t they heroic or villainous?[]
- They are quite docile, but become hostile when the hunters attack them first.
Physiology[]
Teostra is a massive dragon with flaming red coloring and lion-like characteristics. He possesses huge teeth, a pair of backward-curving horns, and a magnificent mane. He has hair all over his wings and tail, which terminates in a clump. He is Lunastra's male equivalent.
Abilities[]
Teostra is a dangerous creature, but its greatest threat comes from its profound grasp of flame. It can breathe out powerful streams of fire that can burn enemies, ignite its surroundings, and create an aura of heat so intense that it can burn people who just come near it. Teostra can produce a great deal of explosive powder from its own scales in addition to its flames, which it may ignite whenever it pleases by gnashing its teeth and shooting sparks. It may either ignite all of its powder at once to create a deadly "Supernova" or it can cover itself in it and distribute it around.
Behavior[]
Teostra is an extremely hostile creature. It will assert its authority over whatever it comes into contact with. Teostra will viciously fight intruders until they are dead, even driving them out of its natural territory, in contrast to Lunastra, who often issues warnings to leave its domain. Even though elder Teostra specimens have been shown to be much calmer, it can only put up with outsiders in its domain for a certain amount of time. If Lunastra is on the same map as Teostra, she is known to work with her, even engaging in a shared interaction called "Bonding" with her.
Habitat[]
Although it has been known to go into the town and the swamp, this monster is more frequently spotted in scorching regions like the desert and the volcano. The flaming depths of the Elder's Recess are home to Teostra as well.
