The Tetranadon is an Amphibian first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.
Physiology[]
An amphibian called Tetranadon has a shell that resembles a turtle on its back and an inflated belly. They can become twice as big as they were originally due to the expansion of their bellies. Its head, front legs, shell, and tail all have hair that resembles algae. Its feet are webbed, and it resembles a platypus with its toothless beak. Its orange eyes include an amphibian-typical horizontal pupil. Furthermore, it possesses a head crest that resembles the head dish of the mythical Kappa. Its tummy swells to an amazing size and it begins to stand on its hindlegs when it has consumed enough garbage. Until then, it walks on all fours.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Arzuros and Tetranadon have a history of conflict. During this combat, inflated Tetranadon have been spotted attempting to swallow an Arzuros; however, the stocky, fanged beasts are too tough for the avaricious Amphibians to eat. Lagombi and Volvidon are two more wing beasts that it can readily beat. It has to make do with other formidable predators like Anjanath, Goss Harag, and the terrifying Seething Bazelgeuse, though, who may still cause it harm.
It is known that tetranadon ingest a lot of gravel, which makes their belly swell to huge dimensions. Tetranadon grow extremely lethargic in their bloated stage, yet their attacks are stronger and they can crush the soil with a single stomp. In this condition, the Tetranadon's assaults are characterized as "sumo-like". Even with their tummy bloated, they can surprisingly jump quite high, causing a tremendous tremor when they land. If they take enough damage, they can be forced out of the swollen condition, which makes them susceptible for a few seconds. When swollen, they may also pick up a rock and spit globules of water out of their mouths.
