The Reliant Regal Driver, or simply known as The Blue Car Driver, is the main antagonist of the Mr. Bean franchise.

He is an unknown driver that has a strong rivalry with Mr. Bean, who frequently picks on them. They start to take action against him after giving him many chances.

Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]

  • He isn't a hero due to not committing any heroic acts.
  • He isn't a villain and isn't allowed on Villains Wiki due to not being consistent enough, as he only appears as a villain for one episode. Besides that, he is shown getting bullied around by Mr. Bean.

Biography[]

Original series[]

Appearing as a gag in the original series, the Regal is often seen being bullied around by Mr. Bean, either intentionally or unintentionally. He is usually pushed around during Beans road rages or when the Regal is in front of Bean, with Bean trying to overtake it. Despite this Mr. Bean seems to have a strong hatred for three wheelers as in the episode Tee off, Mr. Bean They are seen offering Bean a hitchhike, in which Bean rudely ignores. Near the end of the series they seem to get tired of Bean's actions.

Animated series[]

The Regal plays a much larger role in the animated series, as they start to get back at Bean. They are seen stealing Bean's parking spaces just before he is about to enter them. They also start to push Bean's mini out of the way in a similar fashion to what he did. In the episode The Sofa it manages to take the old sofa that Mr. Bean's TV remote is still inside of, which was sold for a measly 10p. Bean chased down the car but was unable to get it back.

His biggest role comes in the episode Car Wars where they actively try to get revenge on Mr. Bean, even in extreme methods. They are seen stalking Bean and chasing him around town after his first few run ins in the episode. They start to act villainous after they push Bean's mini into a tea truck, causing a massive amount of plates and mugs to be smashed. After this they are seen chasing Bean around a pond, in which they make his mini fall into the pond, forcing Bean to get help from the mechanic that previously fixed his engine. Bean then relentlessly searches for the Regal and finds it under a bridge and prepares to charge at it when his engine suddenly stops working. Bean evacuates the mini and hides around a telephone box, he then enters it and tries to call the police. The Regal then turns around and rams the telephone box upside down, causing it to break off the ground and Beans 911 call to get cut off.

Later that night Bean notices a piece of paper on his mini that appears to be a warning from the Regal who is just behind it. As the Regal begins to charge Bean hops in his mini and a standoff begins at the junkyard. Bean walks over to the Regal with a torch and opens the door finding no one inside. His mini is then lifted by the unknown driver in a crane and thrown into the trash compactor. Bean is then again forced to take his car to the mechanic to be repaired.

In Video Games[]

The Reliant Regal makes numerous appearances in Mr. Bean videogames. He is first appeared in Mr. Beans Wacky World in the garden racing minigame as the opponent, where it is driven by Irma Gobb. He also makes an appearance in the Mr Bean: Special Delivery mobile game.

Appearance[]

In the animated series, during the episode Young Bean the Regal's driver is seen fully, although as a small child. In the episode Artful Bean the driver's driving gloves are seen. In the original live action series the driver also appears to be of white ethnicity.

Personality[]

Initially, the driver served as a victim of Mr. Bean's bullying and would always be pushed around by him, but nether less still gave him many chances. However, he decided to become vengeful and get back at Bean, likely as payback for all of the abuse he suffered from him.
