The Tyrannosaur Buck (not to be confused with the Tyrannosaur Bull) is the secondary antagonist of the 1997 sci-fi action film The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the second installment of the Jurassic Park film franchise. He is the father of the infant Tyrannosaurus rex: Junior, and the mate of the Tyrannosaur Doe.
His vocal sound effects are provided by Frank Welker, who also voicing Rexy in the Jurassic Park franchise, Curious George in the animated franchise of the same name, Garfield Cat in the animated franchise of the same name, Blue in the Jurassic World trilogy, Dragon in DreamWorks' Shrek franchise, Scooby-Doo and Fred Jones in the Scooby-Doo franchise, Spike in the Equestria Girls franchise, Zilla Jr. in Godzilla: The Series, Zero in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hu in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Goddard in the Jimmy Neutron franchise, Doe in The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2, Dante and Pepita in Disney/Pixar's Coco, Abu and Rajah in Disney's Aladdin franchise, Sparky in Disney's Frankenweenie, Momma Dino in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Max in Disney's the Little Mermaid franchise, Sonya the Bear in DreamWorks' Madagascar franchise, Elinor in bear form in Disney/Pixar's Brave and Sven in Disney's Frozen franchise.
Why isn't He heroic or villainous?[]
- He's just an amoral predator rather then an actual villain.
Appearance[]
The Tyrannosaur Buck has much more pronounced features then the female Tyrannosaurs including more pronounced Ridges on his snout and a noticeably more saggy neck and throat. He is also easy to identify due to the scars on his face.
Personality[]
Though he is an animal he does seemingly have a strong and loving bond with his son and most likely has a similar relationship with his mate.
History[]
Early Life:[]
The Tyrannosaur Buck was born on Isla Sorna. He was originally born female but due to the frog DNA used to create his genome, changed to male in order to reproduce. He met the Tyrannosaur Doe and had a son in 1997.
The Lost World Jurassic Park:[]
He was first shown along side his mate the Tyrannosaur Doe as they were looking for their infant son who had been kidnapped by Roland Tembo and Ajay Sidhu to lure out the Buck so Roland could hunt him. But the Young Tyrannosaur ended up with Ian Malcolm, Sarah Harding and Nick Van Owen when Nick brings it back to the Fleetwood RV Mobile Lab due to the infants broken leg where the the parents find them with their son. After they let him out and give back to his parents, they start to push the Fleetwood RV Mobile Lab off a near by cliff. Soon after this Eddie Carr finds them in this predicament and does everything he can to get them out. while he did succeed at saving their lives the two adult Tyrannosaurs came back and ate him. Later they were seen at the camp where the humans were sleeping the Buck stuck his head into one of the tents specifically a tent with the aforementioned Sarah Harding and Ian Malcolm's daughter Kelly Malcolm much to their terror. Carter Clark then woke up and screamed an act that would make the Buck throw the tent off of his head. While the Doe Cased away the majority of the humans Roland Tembo stayed behind and successfully had the animal tranquilized. He is brought back by sea, on the S.S. Venture and is implied to have killed the entire crew on board. After a police officer accidently open the cargo hold, The Buck goes on a rampage. He causes a lot of property damage and even kills a few people while he's there. He is then lured back to the ship by Malcolm and Harding by using his son as bait to get him back on board the Venture. meanwhile Peter Ludlow is also on the ship and is a approached by the Young Tyrannosaur but also rather unfortunately him, the father. As Peter tries to run away the Buck grab him by the leg and break it as Peter howls in agony he is then droped on the floor where Junior finishes the job. Ian Malcolm then tranquilizes the Buck and He and his son are sent back to Isla Sorna where he his son and his mate are shown to be living happily.

He and His mate are briefly seen greeting Rexy.
Trivia[]
- The animatronic that was used for The Buck Rex in The Lost World Jurassic Park was reused for the Tyrannosaur Bull in Jurassic Park 3.
- He was the first shown Dinosaur in the franchise to be confirmed as male.
