Marlene (better known by her title as Vice Principal Marlene) is a minor character of the 2025 fantasy action-adventure film A Minecraft Movie, the film adaptation of Mojang's Minecraft video games franchise.
She is the vice principal of Chuglass High School, hence her name, that has previously divorced teacher, Clemente Gunchie. After one night while driving, she encounter the Nitwit and offers to invite him for a fancy dinner after accidentally running him over with her Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the two quickly connect with each other. They both propose to each other the next day, after they have learn each other's respective language.
She is portrayed by Jennifer Coolidge.

Marlene seems to be a much older woman with long blonde hair, hazel eyes with a blue eyeshadow, and pink lipstick. She wears a pink shirt that has a white collar and green stripes, and when outside, wears a hotter pink blazer jacket. The next in-universe day, Marlene wears a pink, long-sleeved, floral dress.
Biography[]
Marlene about twenty years ago would date and marry fellow teacher Clemente Gunchie, but would soon experience some relationship problems with him. Although she continued to be with him in the hopes that their relationship would improve, Marlene would then file for divorce after realizing that it wasn't going anywhere.
Marlene first appears in the film when Henry is sent to her office after two kids sabotaged his jetpack to crash into the Chuglass Potato Chip factory. She explains to him that she needs to see his guardian, and Henry calls in Garrett Garrison to pose as his uncle. Marlene vaguely recognizes Garrett and calls him the "Trash Bag." When Garrett corrects her, she becomes smitten and attempts to flirt with him.
Later the same night, a Nitwit wanders into Earth from the Overworld and ends up crossing paths with Marlene when attempting to cross the road. Exiting her Jeep Grand Cherokee, Marlene offers to take the Nitwit out for dinner in exchange for the villager not to file a lawsuit against her. At a fancy restaurant, the two start to bond with each other even after Marlene explained her previous failed relationship with Clemente.
The next day, Marlene is seen inside her office while feeding the Nitwit some bread, carrots, and potatoes. Clemente enters her office to find Marlene's new date, and both Marlene and the Nitwit berate him for giving up his chances at redemption. It is also revealed by the Nitwit that Marlene taught him how to speak English offscreen, while he taught her to speak the language of the villagers. The Nitwit then proposes to Marlene, which she quickly accepts.
