Violet Mizutsune are a Rare Species of monster introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. They are an incredibly rare subspecies of the Leviathan, Mizutsune, which possess the ability to create flaming bubbles and manipulate fire. Known for their rarity and strength comparable to Elder Dragons, seeing one is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the luckiest hunters.
Appearance[]
Since the female Violet Mizutsune are not targetted for hunts, all individuals seen in game are male, exactly like their normal counterparts. Violet Mizutsune has black fur, indigo fins, and whitish-lilac scales with faint indigo striations along his body. His fur glows a pale blue when he is powerful. Violet Mizutsune is marginally bigger than a typical Mizutsune, as is the case with many Rare Species.
Habitat[]
There are extremely few Violet Mizutsune at the Infernal Springs and Forlorn Arena, and they are hardly ever seen at all.
Abilities[]
In addition to Mizutsune's exquisite mobility, Violet Mizutsune's body secretes an oil-like substance that, when ignited by friction from its body, can envelop its surroundings in a stunning yet lethal conflagration. It can use this to shoot streams of fluid that burn on hit, blazing puddles that burst once ignited, and flaming bubbles that, after a delay, home in on hunters. It can envelop itself in blazing flames by increasing the pace at which this fluid is secreted, giving its physical attacks a fiery effect and enhancing all of its current ones. It will leave this state if enough damage is done to these blazing sections.
Behavior[]
Violet Mizutsune, like its counterpart, prefers to sleep when it isn't battling and will act violently if someone tries to enter. Monsters like the Tigrex are readily defeated by it. But it has to fight for territory against hazardous creatures like Elder Dragons, Apex Monsters, and similarly strong Rare Species.
