Vortex is a supporting character in the dark comedy, animated web series, Helluva Boss.

He is a hellhound who works as the bodyguard of Verosika Mayday and is currently dating Beelzebub and befriends Loona, wishing to help her socialize with others and make friends.

He is voiced by James Monroe Iglehart, who also voices Asmodeus in the same series, Zestial in Hazbin Hotel, and also voiced Lance Strongbow in Tangled.

Biography

Spring Broken

Vortex makes his debut in this episode, revealing himself to be Verosika Mayday's bodyguard. Loona quickly begins to develop a crush on him. When I.M.P. finds him at the same building that they were planning to head to once they arrived at the human world, Tex explains that his boss rented one of it's rooms for herself. Vortex tries his best to protect Verosika from her obsessive fans when the succubus starts singing "Vacay to Bonetown". Upon seeing Loona getting into a fight with Blitzo, Tex asked her if she was okay. After Millie defeated the giant fish mutated from the Beelzejuice that landed in the ocean, Tex tells Loona, he'll give her a ring sometime, only for him, his boss, and the rest of Verosika's pose to be arrested by the police.

Ozzie's

Once he and his boss had gotten out of jail, Vortex sends a invite to Loona for one of his girlfriend's house parties.

Queen Bee

When Loona arrived at the party in the Gluttony Ring, Vortex promptly greeted her and introduced her to his girlfriend, Beelzebub. He later urges Loona to keep an eye on Blitzo, since he is causing trouble on purpose. This leads to Loona and Bee engaging in an argument, embarrassing Vortex. Beelzebub apologizes to her boyfriend before asking to dance with her.

Seeing Stars

Vortex appears in a photo when Loona logged into her Sinstagram account, with his profile picture being visible and confirming that Loona looked at Vortex's story.

Apology Tour

Vortex and Verosika provide the backup vocals for "All 2 U" at his boss' annual Anti-Blitzo Party.

Trivia

• While he is currently neutral, there's a chance that this could change eventually since it's possible he could appear again in a future episode.
• In the episode "Spring Broken", Vortex was thought to be Lonna's love interest until it was interfered by Blitzo. But luckily, that changed a lot in the episode "Queen Bee" as we learned that Vortex is actually Beezelbub's boyfriend and not Loona's love interest.
  • Despite Vortex being Loona's friend (due to Beezelbub being his girlfriend), this has been confirmed that Loona have an unnamed hellhound as love interest, but this has never been seen and his name is never mentioned, but perhaps he will appear in a potential episode of Helluva boss.
