The Zamtrios are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter 4.
Physiology[]
Large and quadrupedal, with grey-blue skin and yellow fins, Zamtrios is a terrifying creature. It is somewhat shark-like in appearance, with a long, pointed snout and a mouth packed with many rows of sharp teeth. On occasion, Zamtrios is observed wearing armor that resembles ice and is covered with horns and spines all over its body. The limbs of Zamite, in its adult form, are strong and completely formed. Because of its ability to inflate, its skin is very elastic.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Predator Zamtrios is renowned for surprising its victim by attacking from beneath the sea ice. When it feels frightened or agitated enough, it will release a reactive fluid through its skin that freezes into a substance like ice, creating a protective "armor" to shield its skin from harm.
Zamtrios has the ability to launch strong water jets from its mouth to destroy adversaries. In order to ambush its victim, it may even move beneath the ice. It can coat itself in an ice armor akin to Glacial Agnaktor's by secreting a particular reactive fluid via its skin. Additionally, the armor at the end of its nose resembles a long, jagged spear. The Zamtrios may render their victims immobile by spitting the reactive fluid that makes up their armor. It may also inflate to enormous sizes by filling itself with liquid. In an attempt to crush prey, it can roll and leap on top of them while in this form.
Habitat[]
Zamtrios lives in the Polar Field and the frigid Frozen Seaway.
